In 1918, James Holland Arnold (1878–1947) purchased the house. A native of Bedford County, TN, in 1901 Holland Arnold founded Holland Arnold’s Dry Goods Store on Main Street. A native of Texas, Annie F. Arnold worked as a clerk in her husband’s store.
