Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium

3,550 acres of wonder, wolves, stars, and wild Appalachia

Loading weather…

Bays Mountain Park is Sullivan County's crown jewel of outdoor recreation, 3,550 acres of Appalachian forest, a 44-acre lake, and one of the region's best nature centers, complete with a planetarium, wolf and bobcat habitats, a birds of prey aviary, reptile exhibits, and over 40 miles of trails. Ride the barge across the lake, hike to fire tower overlooks, watch the wolves at feeding time, and finish the day under a dome full of stars. This is the kind of place that turns a casual visitor into a Sullivan County evangelist.
