Lauderdale County · State Highway 87

Located on eastern bank of the Mississippi approximately 40 miles north of Memphis, Fort Pillow was a river fort constructed by the Confederate Army. Construction began in late 1861 but was never completed; Confederates evacuated the fort in June 1862.
