"OLD MAN" PERDUE HAD A GATE ACROSS THE ROAD AND EVERYONE HAD TO GET OFF OF THEIR HORSE OR WAGON TO OPEN THE GATE THAT GAVE HIM TIME TO COME OUT AND ASK WHERE THEY WERE GOING. MALLIE SAID THE HOUSE WAS THERE BEFORE SHE WAS BORN. SHE'S IN HER 20'S NOW.
