CARSON COLLEGE PURCHASED HOUSE FROM MOUNTCASTLE IN 1874. CLASSROOMS,LIBRARY, AND LABORATORY HOUSED THERE. WHEN CARSON MERGED WITH NEWMANIT BECAME A DORMITORY. CITY BOUGHT IT IN 1917, AND IT BECAME PUBLIC SCHOOL. LUTHER BEELE BOUGHT IN 1922, REMODELED IT.
