THIS HOUSE WAS BUILT BY ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF THE TENNESSEE COAL & IRON COMPANY. SHOOK WAS BORN IN 1845, AND HE MOVED TO TRACY CITY AFTER THE CIVIL WAR. BY 1880 HE HAD BECAME A CO-OWNER IN TCI. HE BUILT THE HOUSE IN 1890, AND HE LIVED HERE OFF &ON
