Propose a Historical Marker

The Tennessee Historical Commission has erected over 2,000 markers since 1948. Proposed markers go to staff review, then the Monuments & Markers Committee, then a Commission vote (the Commission meets in February, June, and October).

Sponsor cost for this design: $2,685.00 (the sponsor pays the manufacturer after Commission approval).

Cite the sources that substantiate the marker's facts — insufficient documentation is the most common reason proposals are rejected.
